Housing in Nicaragua
I am in Nicaragua visiting a dynamic organization that builds housing for very poor people. Houses cost only $1500--Jahayra Tapia is an architect and the coordinator of this great program. Pictures will be up next week when I return.
I love basketball. I studied Russian for 7 years and loved the great Russian novels. Martin Luther King, Jr.came to Wesleyan University in the fall of 1963 and his talk and my own conscience and search for adventure led me into the Mississippi Summer Project. I worked in Ruleville, Mississippi and lived next door to Fannie Lou and Pap Hamer.
I became a Presbyterian minister and served 4 different congregations in NY,Ohio, Pa and NJ. I served the Watchung Ave.Presbyterian Church in North Plainfield, NJ for 29 years and retired last July. I have been heavily involved in community organizations dealing with housing, refugees, international partnerships.
